– MASTER IN LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE EXTENDED (120 ECTS) 2017-2018
– MASTER ARQUITECTURA DEL PAISAJE (90 ECTS) 2017-2018

INTRODUCTION

The programme  Master in Landscape Architecture and the BCN Master in Landscape Architecture Extended are focussed on project questions, and management and maintenance of the lands-cape while maintaining a commitment to current issues. It also places an emphasis on the need to continue investigating the big issues in landscape architecture while at the same time backing the exploration of emerging ideas.

The master’s programme  Master in Landscape Architecture, the original master, was founded in 1982-83, and it was the first masters at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) .The next course will be its 34th anniversary and throughout this period over 570 professionals have taken this course which covers a very particular niche in the training for professionals in landscape architecture. The programme is made up of around 80% project work. The 20% remaining involves acquiring knowledge through at-tending theory-conference classes given by expert professionals as a complement to the design process aspect of all the workshops.

The  concretion of this integration in six week workshops and international workshops, let us to offer a more flexible and tailored  educational structure to the needs of the  students. It has also reinforced the international nature of the program, leading to ncreased presence of foreign teachers to develop open workshops consolidating a wider range of teachers who have always been the quality assurance of our master.

The Master of Landscape Architecture and Landscape Architecture Master in BCN are masters of self-titration of the UPC.

AIMS

-Develop criteria and basic knowledge in order to enter into the world of aesthetic design and also social, technical and scientific design aspects.

-Acquire the knowledge necessary for understanding and evaluating purposes.

-Be able to recognise intervention methodologies in landscape through case analysis.

-Develop reflective criteria regarding landscape projects and the profession.

-Have the necessary communication tools and abilities required to be able to work in a multidisciplinary field.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND TO THE MASTER PROGRAM

-Architects, town planners, technical archi-tects, and building engineers

-Engineers: agronomic, agricultural, indus-trial, civil and others

-Geographers, geologists

-Professionals in public administration in charge of or working in planning projects in urban and non-urban areas

-Environmental consultants

-Other professionals qualified in technical areas sensitive to interventions in the landscapes
